Being the smallest island in the Caribbean (5 sq miles) and being an island wit no beaches. It is also known for having the world's shortest airport runway.
The official language is Dutch but English
is widely spoken throughout the country.
Saba has the familiar Caribbean like weather. Summer months average a temp of 88 degrees Fahrenheit while the winter months of Dec-Feb, are just slightly cooler at average of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Saba's rainy season is between May & September. Areas that have higher altitudes are cooler where slightly warmer clothing may be needed at night.

Saba is reached by air or ferry via connection from St. Maarten.

The Bottom is Saba's capitol. You'll find restaurants, bars and a little adventure, exploring the bottom.
Saba is a nature lover's paradise. With its mountainous terrain Saba offers 20 hiking trails to suit all levels of experience. The ladder and Mount scenery are the most known trails.
Down below, explore Saba's coral reefs and sea life with the Saba Marine park. Angelfish, hawksbill turtles, snapper and more sea life can be seen during dives.
This village was formally known as hell's gate until the name was changed to Zion's hill. it's home to the Holy Rosary church and a closed sulfur mine you can explore. This is the first village you'll see coming from the airport. You'll find historical sites and the entry to the Sandy Cruise trail here.
It's one of the smaller areas on Saba and slower paced as well. St. John offers stunning views mainly of other islands like St. Kitts & Nevis or Montserrat. St. John is the area to relax and take in the beauty of the destination.
Saba isn't a destination destined for tours and excursions, rather its a destination to experience the local happenings. Go to Karaoke, make your own Saba blue t-shirt, go to a wine or rum tasting, visit Saba's museums. Experience a Saba lace workshop, dance studio or art. There's so much to see and experience.
In the windwardside village you'll find the island's tourist Bureau, cottages and hotels. Mt Scenery hiking trail begins from this village. This village is the 2nd largest village on the island and the most tourist driven. You can shop for arts & crafts as well.
Although Saba is not a nightlife type of island, it has its fair share of festivals. The rum & lobster festival is held in November and is a festival of food, and music.
Saba has its own Carnival held at the end of July.
Saba day is a celebration of Saba being apart of the Netherlands, and celebrated on the 1st Friday in Dec.
